Starfield is amazing. Not perfect, but so much fun.

I didn't like the lack of precision using twist for yaw, even for non combat use. The movement amplitude will always be less than the main stick axis. As I don't want losing precision for both, I have a rudder for roll. The axis that for me need less precision, strafe, are on left twist for up/down and right twist for left/right srafing.

How is the throttle extension thingy at 1:24 called?

I'm glad you mentioned the 'detent' when crossing both axes. My Gladiator arrived last month and I couldn't understand why they would design it that way. It's like fighting against an impingement that deliberately throws off your precision. If I knew about it going in, it's likely I wouldn't have bought the stick. That and the overall cheap plastic feel.

Which is the best rudder setup for this stick for X plane on a Mac?

I remember being so excited when I was accepted into the beta in '02. Initially there were a lot of bugs but once those were fixed I was impressed by how much content there was. Really liked all the secret routes that could be discovered. Definitely a spiritual ancestor to EVE, Elite, or Star Citizen.

I wish people would quit feeding the "made by one guy" fraud. 31 people developed the game but the guy who marketed it didn't mention he bought the assets that 30+ other people made.

I feel that changing the right stick in a manner that it controls the direction the vessel is facing, with the twist being the roll axis, would be more suitable until you can add pedals to the mix.

At 13:53 he says Space Bar to go Down, but he is incorrect, I'm sure he meant to say C to go Down. And if you watch his thumb close, you will see he is pressing C to go Down. So he is using C for Vertical Down, and Space Bar is Vertical Up.

Not even a real gun…

This was painful to watch... soo much work for nothing... I have 6DOF control with my HOTAS . Most throttles have a little analog stick/mini stick like an Xbox controller that's perfect for 6DOF control. The difference is that my hand is just chilling and resting when it comes to forward and reverse throttle. I only have to do a little bit of work when I'm strafing up/down and sideways. You are constantly pushing the stick forward with your left hand just to accelerate. That can't be fun in cruising or combat. it also hurts your horizontal thrust and vertical thrust because your constantly pushing forward on your stick. The only way i can justify the use of dual stick is if you can fly the ship with left hand and control your guns/gimbal with your right. That's what i thought you were going to show when i clicked on this video. it's not practical but would be fun to watch to see if someone can actually get comfortable doing it. I think it would have to involve controlling forward/reverse with pedals, controlling direction with your left hand, control vertical/horizontal movement with mini stick, and use right stick completely for guns ... The only other time dual stick might be reasonably useful is if the ship has an OMNI throttle system like the Fury, Kart-AL, SanTok-ya. Then it makes sense since all throttle is equal/very powerful ... a stick to control 6DOF makes sense so you can be more precise with your 6dof movement. However I can control those just as good as you can, maybe even better. In SC, 95% of the ships have a very powerful forward/reverse thrust and tiny little bit horizontal / vertical thrust. That's why a throttle to control forward/reverse thrust give you great precision and a tiny mini stick to control horizontal and vertical thrust fits the size of the thrusters.

Since is inside we stop to play the game ... not fun anymore. End of story

What do I think? 1) The Imperial fighter is absurd. But, that's to be expected. 2) I'll never fly well enough to even push that federal turd. 3) I wish I knew how to train to fly like that.

What joystick mounts are you using?

I'd love to more details on your mounting system. I'm new to Star Citizen and flight Sim, and I'm about to drop some cash on the VKB sticks but I'm trying to figure out how to mount them. I like your small side platforms for the keyboard and mouse. That, and maybe a beginners guide for how to set them up and wire them. Thanks!

They need to have a dual rail system. A single rail gives too much of a flex/pivot point when downward pressure is applied. This will eventually lead to the screws working out of the desk as well as the rail warping/bending.

I had ordered t16000m duo sticks from Amazon. While researching videos about the VKB sticks, i decided to cancel my order for the t1600m, and ordered these instead. Zero complaints. Worth it!
